Lactation Support Insurance Coverage

After Birth Postpartum & Lactation Studio has the ability to work with some insurance companies to provide no-out-of pocket expenses for you. We currently accept most Blue Cross Blue Shield, Anthem, Cigna - PPO plans and working hard to add more.

If you do not qualify for insurance coverage, we do accept self-pay via debit, credit, and FSA/HSA cards.

Lactation Support Options

  • 1:1 Prenatal Consultation

    We know the importance of prenatal breastfeeding education which is why we recommend our breastfeeding classes. However, some families may want additional personalized information and support. We are offering virtual, prenatal consultations to address your specific questions and concerns. You will leave with an individualized plan that you can implement once your little one arrives.

    Consultation Length: 90 minutes

    Cost: $65

  • Initial Postpartum Consultation (Virtual)

    Are you having difficulty latching? Do you need assistance with creating a sustainable feeding plan now that your baby is home? Are things turning out differently with feeding than what you originally planned? 

    We would love to come alongside you (virtually) to provide a full assessment of your infant’s feeding needs, offer you a 48-hour plan of care, and give you access to secure messaging assistance for one week following your consultation appointment. 

    Consultation Length: 120 minutes

    Cost: $125

  • 'Back To Work' Consultation

    We know firsthand how stressful going back to work after having a baby can be. Let us help you create a plan that is manageable and individualized for you, your baby, and your job. You will also be provided with information regarding: your pumping rights at work, milk supply management, pumping tips/tricks, and milk storage guidelines.

    Consultation Length: 90 minutes

    Cost: $115

  • Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes

    Join us for a 2 hour, virtual class that can help you feel more prepared for your upcoming breastfeeding journey. We will discuss: newborn breastfeeding behavior, breastfeeding positions, tips on how your support person can assist, and give you tips on how to overcome the most common early, breastfeeding challenges.

    Cost: $25

    Classes will begin Summer 2022

If you do not qualify for insurance coverage, After Birth currently accepts Debit/Credit Cards and FSA/HSA cards. However, you will be provided with a Superbill to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. While some insurance providers may offer reimbursement, please check to ensure that your provider has this option. Some insurance companies will request a physician referral.

  • Everyone deserves affordable lactation and postpartum mental health care. If self pay is not an option for your family at this time, check out the ‘Resources’ Tab for ways to access care in a way that does not compromise your financial stability.

  • Following each visit, I will fax a copy of a summary of our visit to your pediatrician’s office.
